Finding the Custom Home Builder of Your Dreams

Building your dream home is the largest investment you will make in your lifetime, so we want to make sure that when the time comes– you get it right.

At Highland Custom Homes we know that the biggest piece of the home-building puzzle is choosing the right custom home builder for your project. That’s why we’ve put together our list of things to consider when considering Highland Custom Homes.

Do Your Homework

Review and research the type of builder you want, what you are looking for, and that each builder is well-qualified. The right custom home builder Utah should have the time, resources, interest, communication skills, and experience needed to build your new home. At Highland Custom Homes, we have been helping people build the home they have always wanted for years. We experienced and our craftsmanship speaks for itself.  To see the quality and elegance we put into each home check out our gallery.

Come Visit and Talk with Us

After you’ve made an appointment with us, we prefer to meet in person.  We strongly feel that nothing can substitute meeting face to face. As you get to know us, ask questions, demand examples and photos of our work and really put us to the test.  Afterall, it is your dream home that we are building and we need to get it done perfectly. Ask us for an updated resume of current projects and client references. Ask about our project-managing skills and how we will handle your home-building project. At the end of the day, we want to establish a solid relationship as your builder and your friend.

Be Specific

Don’t skimp on the details— oftentimes they are what matter. When meeting with Highland Custom Homes make sure to get into the finer things. Ask about our communication skills, how we handle problems, and even about those light fixtures you love. It’s important that we are all on board with your vision.

Ask Questions

This point can’t be stressed enough, don’t be afraid to ask questions. If we say something that doesn’t make sense to you— ask us to elaborate. Ask for sample contracts. Ask for a sample budget. Ask for a sample construction schedule. Ask and then ask again. It’s important that you have a good idea of what you are getting if you choose Highland Custom Homes.

Don’t Assume

Don’t assume you already know something. The amount of information available on the internet is amazing. But that doesn’t mean it’s always correct. Don’t assume because Google said, ‘it’d take this long to get a permit’ that that’s an absolute fact. Ask us every question you have. Assuming can put you into binds you weren’t expecting. We want you to go into the home-building process eyes open.

 Choose the “One”

Finally, make the decision. It can seem scary but after doing all the homework and the legwork, you’re now ready to begin building your custom home.
